The Avignon Bibliothèques network welcomes you to one of its 6 libraries. Within the city, you can visit the Ceccano Library. In Avignon’s libraries, you have access to :

  • an extensive catalog of books, comics, newspapers, CDs and digital resources
  • computer workstations, Internet access and a printer
  • one of the largest heritage collections in the south of France at the Ceccano Library
Did you know?

For the record, the library has been housed since the 80s in this building, which was originally a livrée cardinalice, in other words, a cardinal’s palace built when Avignon was a religious, cultural and artistic capital in the 14th century. The library is named after the influential cardinal Annibal Ceccano! Open your eyes wide and you’ll admire the remarkably well-preserved wall decorations and painted ceilings from this period.

The Stade Nautique features a 50m Nordic Olympic pool heated to 29°, ideal for year-round swimming, a diving pool and a leisure pool. Avignon also boasts a number of swimming pools.
