Description
On the occasion of its Bicentenary, Opéra Grand Avignon reaffirms its commitment to artistic transmission and education.
La Maîtrise Populaire fully embodies this mission: an ambitious project run in partnership with schools in priority neighborhoods, designed to introduce children to the art of opera and offer them a collective, formative experience over three years (2025-2028).
This year, the Maîtrise Populaire, made up of young students from the Greater Avignon area, is presenting a musical program based on cultural diversity, combining French, Spanish and Algerian works. After eight months of intensive work, the children will take to the stage for a final concert on Thursday, June 11, 2026 at the Opéra Grand Avignon.
This highlight of the Bicentenary embodies the fundamental values of the Opéra: openness, transmission and working together, placing the lyric art at the heart of the region and at the service of future generations.
Free on reservation from June 1.
