Description
Inspired by Manuel de Falla’s famous ballet *L’Amour sorcier*, composed in 1915, *Cantos Brujos* tells the story of Candela, a Gypsy woman haunted by the ghost of her former fiancé.
To set herself free and live out her love with Carmelo, she performs a ritual dance around the fire at midnight.
Jean-Marie Machado has created an intense musical and choreographic version of this story, brought to life by the dancing of Ana Pérez, a leading figure in contemporary flamenco.
