La Barthelasse is like the countryside in the city. It is a 700-hectare agricultural area on Europe’s largest river island. In addition to this agricultural landscape facing the Palais des Papes, the island features a pristine forest along the Rhône River that is home to numerous bird species, a beaver population, and the endangered otter—a sign of unspoiled nature.
This route offers a little adventure by bike or on foot in this special place.
Caution: On days when the Mistral blows, the route is exposed to the wind.

I do not pick or forage (unless, in the case of fruits and vegetables, I obtain permission from local farmers)

My four-legged companion is welcome, provided they are kept on a leash
I do not disturb the peace and quiet of the area with noise, shouting, or sound-producing devices.
I do not park, camp, or set up a bivouac outside of designated areas (the island has numerous, well-equipped campgrounds).
