Description
Anna Webber is one of the most prominent saxophonists of her generation. For this trio, she is joined by two talented musicians: Matt Mitchell on piano and John Hollenbeck on drums.
The pieces in this project are strongly driven by rhythm, which is brought to life in turn by the drums, piano, saxophone, or flute. The three musicians share roles, solos, and improvisation, creating energetic, haunting loops that result in a “hyper-jazz” sound with clear echoes of Tim Berne’s influence.
Anna Weber will lead a masterclass exclusively for students of the Conservatoire du Grand Avignon. Auditors are welcome.
