The Théâtre des Halles - scene d'Avignon, is located in the heart of the city, in the former 14th-century Cloître Sainte-Claire. Historians claim that this is where Petrarch met Laure de Noves. In the early 80s, the site was converted into a theater.
Since 1983, the Théâtre des Halles has welcomed and accompanied artistic adventures throughout the year.

By listening to companies, directors and authors, the theater has developed a lasting relationship with an audience that it hopes will be as large as possible, and a loyalty to many artists.
