It was here, in the 40s, that Claude Manguin, a talented agronomist, planted and cultivated several dozen hectares of pear and peach trees, supplying fruit to the most famous delicatessens, including FAUCHON.
Since 1949, Distillerie Manguin has perpetuated MANGUIN's know-how by distilling local fruits (pears, olives, apricots, greengage) and creating innovative spirits such as CARAXES, the pear and rum blend, and OLI'GIN, the olive gin!
In 1957, Charentais stills began distilling the fruit, and "La Poire Manguin" became the company's flagship eau de vie, present on the finest tables in France and beyond.
Since 2011, new owners Béatrice and Emmanuel Hanquiez, driven by a passion for quintessence, have been perpetuating the house's savoir-faire, creating spirits of excellence and now a range of distilled olive spirits, including Oli Gin, the olive gin.
