Between the Palais des Papes and the Tour Philippe Le Bel, joined in the 14th century by the famous Pont d'Avignon with its 21 arches, Barthelasse is the largest river island in the world, with a soil of sand and silt ideal for growing exceptional fruit.
It was here, in the 40s, that Claude Manguin, a talented agronomist, planted and cultivated several dozen hectares of pear and peach trees, supplying fruit to the most famous delicatessens, including FAUCHON.

Since 1949, Distillerie Manguin has perpetuated MANGUIN's know-how by distilling local fruits (pears, olives, apricots, greengage) and creating innovative spirits such as CARAXES, the pear and rum blend, and OLI'GIN, the olive gin!
