Clos Sainte-Marie is a 2.5-hectare estate located west of the commune of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, below the Château. The vineyard lies on a unique terroir of hard limestone and flint, with a clay subsoil resting on marl dating from the Cretaceous period. The vines are around sixty years old, with the exception of the Clos parcel, which is almost one hundred years old.
It's this magnificent symbiosis of old vines and poor, mineral nature that gives Le Clos wines their distinctive freshness and elegance.
We've been growing our vines organically since 2016, when we took over the estate.
The reception area is a villa between the olive trees and the vines, with a welcoming lounge and summer kitchen.
We also offer private tastings, on reservation, around the fireplace in winter, and in the garden lounge in fine weather.
