The self-guided audio tour—available off-season and with a guide during the summer—allows visitors to immerse themselves in the history and magic of this magnificent natural site, designated as part of the Cévennes National Park. It is a living cave, where water tirelessly leaves its mark on the stone, trickling down in cascading draperies to the foot of Lac de Minuit in a spectacle of light and shadow. Trabuc is home to a mysterious phenomenon: an army of 100,000 soldiers at the foot of the Great Wall! A formation that is unique in the world. Frequented at its natural entrance by the Huguenots during the Wars of Religion, and later by the Trabucaires—highwaymen who used it as a hideout—it was in 1945 that the upper network was discovered; today, it has been developed and is open to the public.
