    Outward journey:
    - Starting from Porte de l'Oulle, you reach the banks of the Rhône at the site of the big boats. From here, a greenway runs alongside the Rhône on one side, and the Rocade Nord on the other - all the way to the entrance to the Courtine area: the Voie verte Oulle-Confluence. This City of Avignon project will be completed in spring 2023. It provides a 5km* link between the historic city center and the future Confluence Urban Nature Park.

    - Approximately 10 minutes after the start, you arrive at the intersection between the Rocade Nord and the path to the Confluence: continue on the greenway, following the Route du Confluent to the right. From here, the greenway continues, signposted as far as the Pointe de la Confluence. You'll soon find yourself in the middle of nature, between the Rhône and the fields!

    - When you reach the site, the greenway turns into a dirt and gravel path: for city bikes, you'll have to continue on foot (2 to 3 minutes) to the Pointe de la Confluence, where you can admire the waters of the Durance (left) and Rhône (right) coming together. From here, the Château des Issarts - a private estate in the commune of Les Angles - can be seen on the right. In spring, the banks of the headland are dotted with broom. Many Mediterranean plants, including some rarely seen elsewhere, grow here. Depending on the season, representatives of the local fauna can be seen here:

The natural environment of the confluence is ecologically rich, with several habitats and species of Community interest.
    Let's preserve it together!
    Keys and good habits :
I take all my garbage with me and don't throw it into the water.
My 4-legged friend is welcome on a leash.
I stay on the marked paths and don't go into plant-populated areas.
I respect the work of the people who maintain the canals and I don't pick in the fields or on the sides of the paths.
    I respect wildlife
    Thank you for your commitment!

    The way back :
The return route takes you back to Avignon city center: when you return to the Rocade Nord via the Chemin de Confluence, there's a variant that takes you back to the city center via a lane laid out by the city of Avignon: you cross the Rocade Nord and head towards the city center for just 10 metres, then turn right to find yourself on the Chemin de Rochegude.
This recently-developed road runs alongside the Champfleury canal, providing a quiet link to the outskirts of Avignon: in just 10 minutes, you'll find yourself on avenue Eisenhower, opposite FabrikA.
Our suggestion to round off this stroll: a stop at Tipi, Avignon's urban farm, located next to FabrikA.
From March 1, the CLAUDE urban nursery launches its plant sale!
All spring long, sales of vegetable seedlings direct from Le Tipi urban farm.
A wide variety of Provencal vegetables, flowers and herbs. No fewer than 175 varieties in all!
You can then easily reach the ramparts via avenue Eisenhower, with a detour to the church of Saint Joseph Travailleur, a modern parish church built in the second half of the 20th century and located at 5 rue Paul Achard.

    Good to know:
La Balade is also available to hikers: the mini topoguide published by Apare-CME - Parcours de la zone Confluence, mythical meeting of the master river and the capricious Durance, is available on the Tourist Office website.
