Description
The Ban des Vendanges des Côtes du Rhône is the Rhône Valley's main wine-growing, cultural and festive event, held on the last Saturday in August.
The largest free public event in Avignon and the Vaucluse returns just a few days before the start of the school year to announce to everyone that the grape harvest can begin.
On the program:
5:00 p.m.: Parade of the wine brotherhoods in ceremonial attire, starting from the Church of Saint Agricol
5:30 p.m.: Winemakers’ Mass and blessing of the harvest at the Notre Dame des Doms Cathedral
6:00 p.m.: Master Class with winemakers from the Côtes du Rhône Villages Vaison-la-Romaine AOC

6:30 p.m.: Opening of the gourmet market at Place du Palais des Papes
7:00 p.m.: Official proclamation of the Côtes du Rhône Harvest Festival, with the pressing of the new grapes on a traditional wine press.
8:30 p.m.: Harvest Ball, featuring Manu & Co
