A native of Avignon and very attached to my city, I've been working at the Tourist Office for the past fifteen years. Passionate about culture and food, I love to share my tips, favorites and discoveries with you!

Get your umbrellas!

Even in the rain, Avignon has a charm all of its own.

Take an umbrella and wander through the historic centre, discovering its narrow streets, picturesque squares and architectural treasures.

The Popes' Palace

If you prefer to stay dry, the city has an exceptional heritage and is full of activities.

A visit to the Palais des Papes is a must. Immerse yourself in medieval history as you explore this majestic monument, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which was the residence of the popes in the 14th century.

The museums of Avignon

Whether you’re a lover of art in all its forms or a complete novice, take shelter in one of the city’s many museums.

From Antiquity to the Renaissance to contemporary art, the collections and exhibitions will amaze and captivate you. What’s more, 6 museums are free all year round, so you’d be wrong to miss out!

Time for the show!

If you’re not much of a museum-goer but love culture, no problem!

Avignon, a city of theatre par excellence, has many theatres offering an eclectic programme. Take advantage of bad weather to take refuge in one of the theatres or cinemas and let yourself be transported by a play, a concert or a good film.

Gourmet break

Do you love good food? Treat yourself to a well-deserved gourmet break and discover the local gastronomy.

The town is teeming with good restaurants and quality food shops. Olive oil, wines, cheeses, sweets and more will soon hold no secrets for you.

As you can see, even in bad weather, whether you choose to stay indoors or go outside, Avignon offers an unforgettable experience.
