Description
The place to be in summer, one of the biggest performing arts festivals in the entire world! Theatre, dance, music, circus... the Festival Off means more than 1700 shows during the 3-week duration of the festival in July.
The dates of the 2024 edition have not yet been set by the organizer.
60 YEARS OF HISTORY
The Off Avignon festival, a spontaneous creative space born in 1966 around the Festival d'Avignon, known as In, is now one of the world's biggest performing arts festivals.
Every summer in July, thousands of artists transform Avignon into a festival city, taking over the city's streets and more than a hundred theaters. A unique model built around the independence of the participating structures, the Off Avignon festival welcomes the richness and diversity of national and international artistic creation.
To support the event, its organization, its stakeholders and its development, the Avignon Festival & Compagnies (AF&C) association was created in 2006 on the initiative of companies and theaters.
Throughout the year, AF&C develops programs to support creation, accompany artistic teams, and work to develop audiences and accessibility to the festival for all.
This year's guest of honor: the Mediterranean.
The program is now online! Companies will be adding to it as they go along. Check back regularly to discover new shows: https://www.festivaloffavignon.com/programme

Le Village du Off (Ecole Bouquerie - 6, rue Pourquery de Boisserin)
The Village du Off is the Off Avignon festival's common home, bringing together all its participants: audiences, artistic and technical teams, professionals, partners, etc.
A crossroads of discovery and practice, the Village du Off is the place in Avignon where encounters are woven, energies federated, debates argued, utopias regenerated, ideas confronted and invented, and the future dreamed.
Reception and sales point, over 300 events, Le Son du Off - contemporary music festival, bookshop, canteen and bar.
The TADAMM! village (Ecole Simone Veil - 1, rue des Ecoles)
Since 2022, AF&C has been committed to improving conditions for families and young audiences. This commitment has led to the creation of a guide for young audiences over the past 4 editions, followed by the organization of artistic workshops for children during the festival.
The 2025 edition was marked by the opening of a new venue, renewed this year: the Village TADAMM!, a children's and family village located in the École Simone Veil (former home of the Village du Off).
On the program: workshops in artistic mediation and practice, presentations of extracts from shows, a convivial space, a bookshop, a bar and snack bar, areas for relaxation, rest and games.
An oasis dedicated to children and young people right at the heart of the festival!
