The heritage of Avignon, part of which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is easily discovered on foot, along the cobbled streets, shady squares and emblematic monuments such as the Palais des Papes and the Pont d’Avignon.
The city also lends itself to simple experiences: visiting a museum, strolling through a Provencal market, sitting on a terrace or exploring the shops in the historic centre.
In spring, the conditions are particularly pleasant for enjoying the outdoors. The banks of the Rhône and the Ile de la Barthelasse offer plenty of opportunities for walks and cycle rides, with open views over the city and its monuments.
