Revolta

Geneva Camerata presents a unique encounter between the world of krump - a hip-hop dance style born in the suburbs of Los Angeles - and one of the greatest masterpieces in music history, Shostakovich's Fifth Symphony.
-
Performed rote by the musicians, who dance simultaneously, this performance explores a variety of current social themes, such as tolerance, courage and freedom.
For Revolta, Geneva Camerata called on director and choreographer Kader Attou, and choreographer Grichka. Based on the rhythmic intensity of Shostakovich's "Fifth" and the virtuosity of four dancers, the show uses the body movement of krump as an expression of tolerance and dialogue, symbolizing revolt and the fight against brutality.
