La plaine de l'Abbaye

The Plaine de l'Abbaye, the plain around the Abbey, is an immense natural sensitive area that is protected and preserved. The space stretches along the right bank of the Rhône to the old city and the hills.
The plain is primarily agricultural and grows fruit and wheat. Today, it shares space with sports activities and leisure areas. Along the small roads and trails there are homes and vegetable gardens, and a side channel that goes along the Rhône. This area has drawn countless walkers and cyclists. This vast area offers wonderful walks along the Rhône where you can observe the rich, diverse flora and faune, and discover the historical heritage in Villeneuve. A fitness trail adds to the fun.
