Avignon boasts an intense cultural scene throughout the year: from the contemporary dance festival Les Hivernales, in the heart of winter, to the comic book festival in November, not forgetting Festo Pitcho, an event dedicated to families and young audiences in April, Résonance, a festival of electro music in heritage sites, the Tremplin Jazz in early August, which showcases emerging talent, … not to mention the famous Festival d’Avignon and Festival Off in July.not forgetting the famous Festival d’Avignon and Festival Off in July. Culture is alive and kicking all year round!

Avignon in July...a concentration of festivals!

From the Festival d’Avignon, created in 1947 by Jean Vilar, to the bubbling OFF, via Villeneuve en Scène, there’s not a patch of land that doesn’t vibrate to the sound of applause. In July, the world is a stage.

My festival

Avignon, MY city, is famous the world over for 3 things: the Palais des Papes, the Pont d’Avignon and the Festival, one of the most important international events in contemporary performing arts. Every summer, for 3 weeks, I see my city transformed into the world’s largest theater! I’m a big fan of dance and theater, and I love this unique atmosphere: the city is plastered with posters of shows! Walls, store windows, lampposts, benches… everything is covered in incredible chaos.
