Montée de la Tour, 30400 Villeneuve-lès-Avignon
This tower is the dungeon of a fortress that was built by the King of
France in the 13th century. It marked the end of the famous Pont
d’Avignon and was of great strategic importance.
Its beautiful vaulted rooms now house art exhibitions and the deck roof
provides magnificent views over Avignon and the Rhône valley, and
extend to the Dentelles de Montmirail and the Alpilles
