Legend of Saint Bardulphe, patron saint of the parish.
A Benedictine monk, who became Abbott of the Monastery of Bobio in Italy. Legend has it that he was responsible for monitoring a vineyard to keep wild animals from destroying it. Some thirty brothers came along to build a fence. When they were finished building the fence, Saint Bardulphe encouraged them to rest and to take a little food. But he only had a crust of bread, The revrend brother told him not even to worry about, for there was nothing to eat and food was rare to come by. "The Lord gave me this duck" answered
Bardulphe and he divided it into thirty parts. All were completely satisfied and had plenty to eat, and if anything was miissing, faith made up for it".
