Founded in 2017, the Quatuor Elmire is establishing itself as one of the most promising ensembles of its generation. It is the first string quartet to be signed by the Scala Music label.
In 2025, the Elmire Quartet recorded the Razumovsky Quartets for Scala Music, opening for them on stage at La Scala-Paris; the 1st Quartet, Op. 59, was a veritable renaissance for Beethoven, who a few months earlier had written a deeply moving letter to his two brothers, the "Testament of Heilligenstatdt", in which he confessed that he wished to end his life.
