This space, behind the Palace of the Popes, was originally the orchard of Pope Urban V in the 14th century. Today it is a public garden which was used during the Festival d'Avignon at the time of Jean Vilar. Today there can be concerts and other cultural events. Open 8am to 11pm.
As the name suggests, this is where the Pope bought the fruit for his table.
It is now a public garden, equipped with benches and a playground.
Part of the 16th-century rampart has been preserved, as has the walkway, now laid out for children's enjoyment.
In Jean Vilar's day, this garden was a major venue for the Avignon Festival, where numerous artistic encounters took place.
The garden features a wooden and metal children's playground with suspension bridge and slide.
The area is directly linked to the Utopia cinema and the Place de l'Amirande.
Pets are not allowed.
