From Malaucène, the road winds its way to the hamlet of Vaux at the bottom of the Toulourenc valley, then climbs back up to join the road to Saint-Léger-du-Ventoux, where it becomes free. The forest section begins with the GR4 towards the hamlet of Bernard-la Frache. This is followed by a 15 km ascent (steep for the calves!) on forest tracks to the Mont Serein resort. The route then becomes panoramic on the ultra-gravel 1500 route to Chalet Reynard, before the mythical ascent of the Géant de...
