  • An easy stroll to discover the rich heritage of Villeneuve lez Avignon

  • From the Tour Philippe le Bel, take rue Montée de la Tour, which passes the Hôtel des Monnaies, one of the remains of Pope Clement VI's palace. The street descends towards Place de l'Oratoire.
    Continue along rue de l'Hôpital to Collégiale Notre-Dame, Villeneuve's parish church.

    Turn left in front of the Collégiale entrance, walk around it to cross the cloister and join rue de la République, near the Musée Pierre-de-Luxembourg.

    Follow this street up to the Chapelle des Pénitents Gris, at no. 51, in the courtyard of the former Palais de la Thurroye.

    Opposite is the monumental entrance to the Chartreuse.
    Go as far as the Chartreuse entrance and turn left into rue de l'Amelier, then right into impasse de la Bugade and climb Mont Andaon along chemin des Chartreux, then left along chemin du Bourg St-André, to the twin towers of Fort St-André.

    Return to the village center via rue Montée du Fort, following the "Office de Tourisme" signs, then at N° 12, at the foot of the statue of Saint Antoine with his pig, turn left onto * rue du Grand Bourguet*, cross the Bourguet district to rue Marcel Fabrigoule and return to place Charles David and the plaine de l'Abbaye.
