Place Pie, Delirium, Pub Z... The top places to go out and have fun in Avignon

When the sun goes down, Avignon wakes up! Festive and secretive, it’s a place where you can dance until dawn, remake the world in unlikely bars or hidden cabarets, and admire the stars from a rooftop.

La place Pie

At the heart of the city, this is the buzzing square par excellence. Its large forecourt facing the Halles centrales is surrounded by a multitude of bars where all Avignon’s youth gather.

We love it for: Sitting on the shady terraces during the day and lively at night, we remake the world, laugh and concoct the end of an evening that, for some, will end when the Halles opens at 6am with a life-saving café-croissant!

Le Kabarouf

A multi-disciplinary venue, Kabarouf is back under the plane trees on Barthelasse Island from Thursday to Sunday from 5pm to 12:30pm. On the program: relaxation, arts, sharing and encounters.

We love it for: its good, festive and convivial atmosphere and its multiple concerts and animations

Le Délirium

Beware, secret cabaret! In Rue Mignard, an iron door that doesn’t really invite discovery nonetheless hides one of Avignon’s most unusual places. On the second floor of this private mansion, two brothers have created an atypical place between gypsy cabaret and ephemeral bar where no two party nights are alike. What makes it special?

We love it for: No schedule or programming… Delirium’s evenings are confided by discreet mouth to selective ear.

Le pub Z

Just behind Place des Halles, rue Bonneterie, PUB Z is an institution. Created in 1987 by Boboss and taken over by his son Will, this musical bar is the soul of Avignon nights. While the façade is decorated in black and white (the work of Avignon street artist Pablito Zago), the atmosphere is colorful to say the least!

We love it for: cutting-edge music and DJs from eclectic backgrounds, we’ve even taken knitting classes here… In short, the city’s leading music bar is more than worth a detour when you’re passing through.

Les Ambassadeurs

A furious desire to undulate to hip rhythms assails you? Head for rue Bancasse and the temple of Avignon’s dancing nights: “les Amba”. If you’re lucky, you might even bump into Ariel Wizman behind the decks! A very popular club for Avignonnais, proper attire required.

We love it for: disco balls, sequins and alcoves, we’re not kidding about the atmosphere here.
