In the heart of the vineyards and the Côtes du Rhône appellation

Since the arrival of the popes in Avignon in the Middle Ages, vine-growing has developed rapidly in the Rhône Valley. Today, the wines have come a long way and have now conquered a place of choice among the great French AOCs.
In 1996, Avignon became the Capital of Côtes du Rhône.

Le Carré du Palais

On the Place du Palais des Papes, the Carré du Palais is an iconic venue in Avignon, entirely dedicated to Wines of the Rhône Valley, gastronomy and wine tourism. With its École des Vins du Rhône, its Bar à Vins Oenotouristique 100% Rhône, its impressive cellar, its exceptional lounges and terraces, and its year-round events, it caters to visitors passing through Avignon, as much as to conventioneers or the regional public.
