In 2017, he published Montrez-moi vos mains, an introspective and engaging account of the daily life of a pianist. He is also the main subject of a film directed by Swiss filmmaker Raphaëlle Aellig-Régnier: Alexandre Tharaud, Le Temps Dérobé, and appeared in Michael Haneke's celebrated film Amour in 2012.

    In 2021, Alexandre Tharaud also won the Victoire de la Musique for Instrumental Soloist of the Year.
