SURFACE PARKING
Intramural parking (“orange zone”): 1,816 spaces available, including 93 PMR Pay from 9am to 7pm without interruption, Monday to Saturday (except Sundays and public holidays) Limited to 4 hours all year round. Extramural parking (“yellow zone”): Pay from 9am to 12pm and from 2pm to 7pm Monday to Saturday (except Sundays and public holidays) Limited to 5 hours from 09/01 to 06/30 (annual rate) Limited to 4 hours from 07/01 to 08/31 (summer rate). PMR parking spaces in Avignon streets are free on presentation of a CMI disability card. Some forty dedicated spaces are available in the city center, including two near the Tourist Office. Online payment solutions
Payment for parking can be made either on the spot at the pay and display machines on the streets in the orange zone, or directly via the “PayByPhone” application, which can be downloaded to your smartphone. Avignon is also making parking easier with the Flowbird application, a free, easy-to-use (geolocation-based) service for paying for parking from your cell phone or computer!
PARK-AND-RIDE FACILITIES
Thanks to our Park & Ride facilities, traffic jams and parking problems are a thing of the past! Park in one of the 5 Park-and-Ride lots and take the bus, streetcar or shuttle to Avignon city center.
P+R Italiens – avenue des Italiens: 1454 free spaces (including 25 PRM and 4 electric vehicles), served free of charge by the CityZen Italiens P+R Piot – route de l’Islon: 1100 free spaces (including 22 PMR), served free of charge by shuttle bus P1 (P+R Piot<>Porte de l’Oulle) and also by line 20 (network pricing) P+R Courtine – rue Jean-Marie Tjibaou: 400 free spaces, served by lines 10, 20, 30 (network pricing).
P+R Agroparc – chemin des Félons: 320 free spaces (including 8 PRM and 4 electric vehicles), served by lines C3, 4, 13, 22 (network pricing). Oversize vehicles
Vehicles over 1.90 meters in height may not be parked around the ramparts. Access to the underground parking lots in the city center is also restricted to vehicles up to 1.90 meters in height. If you’re coming to Avignon by camper van : There are parking areas for campers and minivans on the Ile de la Barthelasse opposite Avignon on the Rhône, just a few minutes’ walk from the city center. The Ile Piot parking lot (+2.60m) and the Parking des Italiens (+2.60m) are reserved exclusively for day parking. Drop-off bus parking: you can drop off your customers near the Pont d’Avignon. 1st hour free, from the 2nd hour onwards: €3/hour. Free on Sundays and public holidays and from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m.
- Parking de la Foire, avenue de la Foire
Free, open-air, unsupervised bus parking, access via avenue Blanchissage.
BICYCLE PARKING
The City of Avignon provides 3,300 bicycle parking spaces on its territory, including more than a thousand in the historic center. Twenty bike racks are available in the immediate vicinity of the Avignon Tourist Office.
Several of Avignon’smulti-storey parking lots have space reserved for bicycles. Please contact them to check availability. Ibis Budget Avignon Centre ** A 12-minute walk from the Tourist Office and 8 minutes from the Avignon Centre train station . Open to all No size restrictions on luggage, but only bags and suitcases are accepted. You may be asked to open your luggage and show proof of identity. A ticket is issued for each piece of luggage. This ticket is required to retrieve them. Bicycle lockers are not available. Rates (subject to change): €2 per bag for 24 hours. Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, all year round .
