The time has come, after a shared history that began in the 19th century, to say farewell! The Vaucluse departmental archives will leave the Palais des Papes in 2025. They had found their place in the "old" palace, almost forgotten and then turned into a prison after the Revolution, when nothing predestined such a meeting. A place of confinement and oblivion, the part now occupied by the archives became a place of memory and openness in 1883.
