  • The Collection Lambert in Avignon and POUSH have teamed up to produce an exhibition which shows the work of some forty artists-residents from this effervescent artists' breeding ground in the Greater Paris area.

  • Organized through the overlapping prism of a centre for contemporary art and a collective space for artistic creation, the exhibition entitled 'Return from the Present' (Revenir du présent) has taken shape as an echo chamber in which works resonate, works made by a multitude of artists, with an array of artistic expressions, bearing witness to art that is being created here – in France – and now. Organized through the overlapping prism of a centre for contemporary art and a collective space for artistic creation, the exhibition entitled 'Return from the Present' (Revenir du présent) has taken shape as an echo chamber in which works resonate, works made by a multitude of artists, with an array of artistic expressions, bearing witness to art that is being created here – in France – and now. The work by these creators from every region, of every nationality, working within the effervescence of the POUSH space in Aubervilliers (93), begins to flesh out the countours of the multi-faceted French artistic scene, open to the world and deeply aware of the complexity of current challenges. Curators Stéphane Ibars and Yvannoé Kruger have sought to organise triangulation between the new Parisian scenes, the neighbourhoods in the Avignon metropolitan area and the projects they are driving.
Laid out like a long crossing, the itinerary through the exhibition invites visitors to experience a succession of climates in which the possible representations of our relation to the world unfold. Rituals, pilferage, fables, dreams and other spatial transformations infiltrate from the Collection Lambert to thwart in advance the reality of a future forged in grimness. The exhibition, in line with the issues that drive the two organizing institutions, is the fruit borne of joint reflection on how to support artistitic creation and production, on the care taken to ensure the best placement of the works in their exhibition context, on welcoming the artists and offering them counsel as they reflect on their work.
