This major exhibition at the Angladon Museum displays the creations of Raymond Massaro (1929-2019), the great Parisian shoemaker of Italian origin.

Raymond Massaro was the descendant of a long line of artisan shoemakers, the worthy heir who 'learned his trade at women's feet'. His name is linked to movie stars, royalty and the queens of show-business and Parisian high society, such as Marlène Dietrich and Romy Schneider. His art served the great couturiers including Grès, Chanel, Lagerfeld...Raymond Massaro created the elastic ballet flat in 1955 for Madame Grès, and the famous two-tone sandal, designed in 1958 for Coco Chanel.

The exhibition, designed in close collaboration with Laurence Massaro, the daughter of this unrivalled artisan, displays hundreds of works, prototypes and models of iconic shoes.
Behind the great shoes, see also the sketches, drawings, carved wood forms and shapes, and the most elegant creations, jewel-shoes in lace, embroidered with pearls, extravagant designs including breathtaking black patent leather high heels, and also classically elegant shoes.
