  • Curiosity, source of doubt and questioning but above all a forrmidable driving force for research, will be the common thread running through the 2024 summer exhibition at the Musée Angladon - Collection Jacques Doucet, from 6 June to 3 November.

    This drive has led the museum team to revisit all the collections, to question the storerooms, to reopen the armoires and drawers of this home which preserves a heritage built up by several generations of collectors: Jacques Doucet (1853-1929), the great couturier-collector of the Belle Epoque, Léon Dubrujeaud (1845-1920) his father-in-law,...

    This drive has led the museum team to revisit all the collections, to question the storerooms, to reopen the armoires and drawers of this home which preserves a heritage built up by several generations of collectors: Jacques Doucet (1853-1929), the great couturier-collector of the Belle Epoque, Léon Dubrujeaud (1845-1920) his father-in-law, then Jean Angladon (1906-1979) Doucet's grand-nephew and his spouse Paulette Martin (1905-1988) who were both artists in Avignon. Between them they assembled a collection of over a thousand works and objects.
    Treasures which reveal the artist's eye at work and take the public along a path of vagabond curiosity.
    This exhibition unveils essential facets of this ongoing curiosity.
