Broadway Rhapsody

It mirrors the musical creations of George Gershwin and Kurt Weill, two artists from the same generation, who found New York the perfect setting for their exceptional artistic creativity.

This show, in the image of the American musical, combines theater, music, song and dance. Projections of film sequences, specially created for the story, allow humorous interaction between the characters on screen and those on stage. The constant to-and-fro between the present day and 1930s New York offers the spectator a funny, poetic mise en abîme.
True to the "jack-of-all-trades" spirit of the musicians of the time, all the protagonists of the piece - the singer and the six instrumentalists - are both musicians and actors, playing multiple characters. They invite the audience to a musical fireworks display, where voices and instruments play an infinite palette of colors, virtuosically alternating swing and lyricism, burlesque parodies and moving ballads, little-known songs and international hits.
