The Playground Programme
In the words he wrote for the inauguration of the Collection Lambert in the year 2000, Alfred Pacquement evoked a collection still alive – referring to the famous telegrams sent by On Kawara to celebrities in the world of art. Pacquement spoke of a living, breathing collection that continually questions the contemporary scene and withstands the test of time by refusing any aspect of stultification inherent in the museumification of a work.
Echoing this thinking, Playground is a program of experimentation and play applied to different ways of thinking about displaying the works of a collection.
Referring to some of the radical ways the collection was exhibited in the 1980s, we explore the idea of new sensitive relations and new looks that can arise from the arbitrariness of inhabitual and sometimes absurd rules, and thus share a
collection that is very and still alive!
