Dreaming of a Better World; Memories from 1968 in Avignon

Exposition On refaisait le monde
15 Sept. 2018 to 11 Sept. 2019, see details below. This exhibition focuses on local events in 1968 and retraces the era in Avignon through stories, photographs, tracts and posters.
The 22nd edition of the Festival d'Avignon was a time and place of major cultural tumult, reflecting May 68 in Paris. Prior to that however, Avignon also experienced its own student and worker uprisings, on a smaller scale, in that spring.

This exhibition, displayed in the courtyard and on the outside walls of the building of the Municipal Archives, uses local inhabitants' words and documents.

Closed Saturday and Sunday.
- Monday: 10am to 12 and 1:30 to 5pm
- Tuesday to Friday: 8:30 to 12 and 1:30 to 5pm.
Part of the exhibition, on the street side walls, can be seen 24/7.
